I am fortunate. I live in a peaceful country. I have an interesting well-paid job and I have the luxury of time – time to write. It’s never as much as I’d like, but I do have some time. Kind interested folks have also invited me to do a whole lot of talks lately too. I think my favourite audiences are library users. I was speaking to a library group in Histon recently and was reminded how I love being around bookish people, and how I admire librarians too. I’m looking forward to giving another presentation about my writing in Shelford Library on 25
th November – maybe see you there?
I live a fairly unsocial life, compared to many of my friends. I guess that general practice can be exhausting and some days quietness beckons.
Indeed when the press and problems of humanity become too much, I love to escape into books, where people are served up in digestible portions and can be pushed to one side when one is satiated.
